BEACHES
Whether you're looking for a peaceful place to unwind, a scenic spot for photography, or a chance to explore the natural beauty and wildlife of the island, Muck's beaches provide the perfect setting.
Gallanach Bay
Just a 30-minute walk from the pier, Gallanach Bay is a picturesque haven with spectacular views across the water to the rugged peaks of Rum and the rolling landscapes of Eigg. Go for a leisurely stroll along the shoreline and soak in the fresh sea air or head in for a dip with a view. If you are a confident swimmer, try a bit of snorkelling and observe the beautiful swaying kelp forests. On a sunny day, the bay is an idyllic spot for a picnic with a view.
Shell Bay
True to its name, Shell Bay is a paradise for beachcombers and nature lovers alike. The beach is beautifully adorned with a scattering of delicate shells, making it a fascinating place to explore. While away an afternoon beachcombing looking for your favourite shells. Spotting cowrie shells is a favourite activity!
Cairidh Bay
The most accessible, being half way along the road. With superb views of Rum and Canna. This small peaceful bay is only a 15 minute walk from the pier, with plenty to offer: white sands, clear waters, seaweeds and algae, and birdlife to enjoy. There is also a picnic table beside the road, if you don’t want to go down to the bay.
