Welcome to New House, a delightful timber cottage perched just metres from the stunning white sands of Gallanach Bay. This charming retreat, dating back to the 1920s, boasts spectacular panoramic sea views and offers a comfortable stay for up to 6 guests. With its rich character, warm wood interiors, and thoughtful amenities, New House is perfect for families, groups, or anyone seeking a tranquil island getaway.

Accommodation & Features

Sitting Room: Relax in the spacious, cosy sitting room with breathtaking sea views from the window seats. A log-burning stove provides the perfect setting for snug evenings by the fire. This inviting space is ideal for curling up with a good book, playing games, or enjoying quality time with loved ones. The room is equipped with a smart TV and DVD player, a selection of cards, games, jigsaws, books and DVD’s. There’s even a piano for those musically inclined!

Kitchen/Diner: The heart of the house, this traditional kitchen/diner offers a welcoming space for family meals and social gatherings. A traditional Rayburn stove provides warmth, with a pulley clothes airer above for convenience. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, gas cooker, microwave, washing machine, kettle, and toaster.

Bedrooms: All bedrooms feature luxurious mattresses, feather duvets and pillows, and quality cotton sheets to ensure a restful sleep.

Bedroom 1: Spacious room with a king-size bed, sea views, bedside cabinets, dressing table, oak drawers, and comfortable chairs. There’s space to accommodate a cot or camp bed for little ones.
Bedroom 2: Twin bedroom featuring an armchair by the window for sea views, a bedside cabinet, and a large set of drawers.
Bedroom 3: Twin bedroom next to the bathroom, complete with a bedside table, dressing table, and armchair.

Bathroom: A traditional bathroom featuring a spacious cast iron bath with an over-bath shower, sink, and toilet.

Outdoor Space: The lawned garden offers two picnic tables, perfect for outdoor dining while soaking up the island's incredible views. Enjoy peaceful mornings with a coffee or unforgettable evenings watching the sunset over the bay.

Conveniently located just metres from Gallanach Bay’s sandy beach, New House offers superb views of Rum and Eigg, with a nearby seal colony adding to the charm.

The cottage is 1 mile from Port Mor, where you’ll find the piers, tearoom, and Community Hall. A scenic 20-30 minute walk will take you to CAMAS Mor (a Special Site of Scientific Interest), and a 30-40 minute hike leads to the summit of Beinn Airean, Muck’s highest point, rewarding you with breathtaking panoramic views.
